That's Right!! 2 tournaments in one!
Once again, the PDO has been invited to field an All-Star team to compete in the Bay Area Top-Gun Tournament hosted by the SCVDA. The tournament will be held in Sept or Oct at Beefy's Cabin in Sunnyvale; the dates are still being worked out.The ADO qualifier is the first step toward this year’s ADO US Team. The Region 1-3 Finals will be held on Saturday, 31 July at Brick Oven Pizza in Sacramento. The National Finals will be held on Oct 8th in Denver, Colorado in conjunction with the $15,000 Colorado Open (8-10 October)

2 The Point was down 3-6 to the Ugly Ducklings in the match and rallied to win the next 4 to take the B Division League Championship. A similar story was going on in the A Division: Seasonal Brew was down 2-6 to the 4Ps, a quick exchange of singles games put it at 3-7, then Seasonal Brew pulled off the same comeback as 2 The Point, winning the next 5 games to take the title.

I will spare you with the full formal descriptions of each office, you can check those out in the ByLaws online, but here is a quick view of what each position entails.
President: Enforces the bylaws of the Association. He/she shall conduct all meetings in the interest and well being of the Association. In the event of a tied vote, he/she shall cast the deciding vote. Basically acts as the 'face' of the PDO.
Vice President: Oversees the running of the organization and act as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the general membership.
Treasurer: Keep a proper statement of Income and Expenditures of the Association The Treasurer should have experience in accounting or operating a business.
Recording Secretary: Keeps a record of all the proceedings of every regular and special Board of Directors Meetings. He/she shall preserve all books, papers, and records pertaining to the Association.
Membership Secretary: Collects any player dues and/or sponsor fees levied by the Association; maintain accurate player and Sponsor lists at all times. The Membership Secretary is also responsible for coordinating, distributing, and collecting ballots.
Competition Secretary: Responsible for scheduling all dart matches of the Association, arrange playoffs arrange the Rudy Shoot. He/she shall keep accurate records of the weekly results, team standings, as well as individual players results with respect to highlites, high scores, and player ratings. He/she shall inspect all boards, lighting, out charts, and oche lines in establishments, as necessary.
Social Secretary: Arrange social functions, trophy presentations, picnics, or any such event in the interest of the Members.
Members-At_Large (4 positions): Additional member input for league decisions.

Signups are now open for the Fall 2010 Season. Yes, you read that right. We are getting an eariler start on signups for the next season.
The signup deadline will be the Spring Awards Picnic sometime in June/July
The Board will be sending out pre-printed signup forms to help speed up the signup process shortly, so look out for those.
Fall 2010 season will start sometime in August, but to ensure that the entire season is played in 2010, we need to know the number of teams sooner rather than later to schedule the start of the season.

- Sunday March 14th. Location: Eagle's Drift Inn
- 12pm signups. 1pm start.
- $10 entry fee
- Round Robin format (you get to play a lot of games)
- Winner(s) advances to the Region 1-3 Regional in Sacramento.
- Seperate events for Men and Women, if enough of each show up. The Regional has separate events for Men and Women.

Ballots for the 2010 PDO Board have gone out to captains, well most of them... The remaing captains will receive their ballot packets this Wednesday.
Each member of the PDO gets to fill out a ballot. Please fill out your ballot and return it to your team captain who will then mail it before the end of Oct.
Ballots will be counted at the Nov Board meeting: Tues 3 Nov, 7pm, American Bull in Burlingame. The new board members should expect to attend the Dec board meeting to learn about the offices and then assume their new positions starting in Jan 2010.
NOTE: Privateers and Dartesians, your team packets will be at the American Legion in RWC. OPL and Bad Boyz, your team packets are being dropped off at the American Bull. Molly's Grave Diggers, your team packets will be delivered to the Blind Squirrels.

If you or anyone on your team is interested in being a Board member, email us at board@pdo.bayareadarts.net or inform your captain and have them send it in when they turn in their scores from today's match.
This is your league and the Board needs you to help keep the league running. Every office/position is open. If you would like to 'run' for one of the positions, or know someone who does, please submit a nomination.
I will spare you with the full formal descriptions of each office, you can check those out in the ByLaws online, but here is a quick view of what each position entails.
President: Enforces the bylaws of the Association. He/she shall conduct all meetings in the interest and well being of the Association. In the event of a tied vote, he/she shall cast the deciding vote. Basically acts as the 'face' of the PDO.
Vice President: Oversees the running of the organization and act as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the general membership.
Treasurer: Keep a proper statement of Income and Expenditures of the Association The Treasurer should have experience in accounting or operating a business.
Recording Secretary: Keeps a record of all the proceedings of every regular and special Board of Directors Meetings. He/she shall preserve all books, papers, and records pertaining to the Association.
Membership Secretary: Collects any player dues and/or sponsor fees levied by the Association; maintain accurate player and Sponsor lists at all times. The Membership Secretary is also responsible for coordinating, distributing, and collecting ballots.
Competition Secretary: Responsible for scheduling all dart matches of the Association, arrange playoffs arrange the Rudy Shoot. He/she shall keep accurate records of the weekly results, team standings, as well as individual players results with respect to highlites, high scores, and player ratings. He/she shall inspect all boards, lighting, out charts, and oche lines in establishments, as necessary.
Social Secretary: Arrange social functions, trophy presentations, picnics, or any such event in the interest of the Members.
Members-At_Large (4 positions): Additional member input for league decisions.
